Property

Colorless and odorless oily liquid. It is insoluble in mineral oil, slightly soluble in water, soluble in acetone, and miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, chloroform and benzene. Non-toxic, non-irritating, and skin contact will not cause allergies.

Use

Used as plasticizer for vinyl polymers, copolymers and cellulose resins, such as acetic acid fibers used as cigarette filters. It is used as a carrier and solvent in the pharmaceutical industry. In perfume seasoning, it is used as a fixative and solvent. It is also used as a component of printing ink. It is used as a curing agent in casting binder.
